Dear Brothers,
Recently the carrier has been calling people from Road pools and extraboards and having them report to Humboldt yard. Mostly they have been Eden Valley dogcatches (H41EX) and Dresser ballast trains, but there may be others as well. We feel that this is a violation of the agreement and that St. Paul yard is the normal reporting terminal for these jobs. If this has happened to you please put in a penalty claim of a basic day/130 miles, you can go back 90 days and as some of you may already know some claims have already been submitted by Jerry Ott or Ken Henin for various people. These claims are being processed and you should receive a letter soon.
Use the PE code and in comments put the following:
Claiming a basic day for being forced to report to Humboldt yard on job (*******) at (****) hours on 00/00/09 this is a violation of Article # 40 of the General Labor agreement, the River District Agreements #3 & #5,and also Articles #2 and #3 of the 1985 Soo Line-Milwaukee EPA agreement.
When the claims are cut, please give VLC Paul Micke copies of the following: the original claim you submitted, the main cut screen and f12 screen and also a copy of your job or tie up screen. This will make it faster to submit the claims. Please call Jerry Ott or Paul Micke if you are unsure whether to submit a claim or not or if there are any questions. Thank you
Fraternally Yours,
UTU 911 Jerry Ott Local Chairman, Paul Micke VLC
